Coral pink sand dunes state park

Posted by Karthik (Buffalo, United States) on 23 May 2009 in Landscape & Rural.

This was taken at sunset at this state park, southwest of Zion..The sand is the finest i have ever felt and it turns pink at dusk..It is tucked away amidst the canyons and was caused due to wind erosion of the soft rocks.
We spent an hour just enjoying the sunset (and frantically photographing..)
The colors were not pink but pinkish orange that evening..still gorgeous
